THE LESSON

He who struggles hard but fails

to grasp Mathematics

knows how to count the stars

She who doesn’t draw in her workbook

draws a great grand chariot-kolam

at her threshold

The one who doesn’t learn

the verses to memorize

becomes Andal herself

while singing Thiruppaavai.

He who the world map turns

ill-at-ease

knows all the streets and lanes of his place.

The school makes those

who excel in the lesson of Life

sit in the last row of the class.

Alas…..

பாடம்

கணக்கே வராத ஒருவனுக்கு

நட்சத்திரங்களை எண்ணத் தெரிந்திருக்கிறது.

செயல்முறை ஏட்டில் படம் வரையாதவள்

வாசலை அடைத்துத் தேர்க்கோலம் போடுகிறாள்

மனப்பாடப் பாடல்கள் படிக்காத ஒருத்தி

திருப்பாவை பாடுகையில்

ஆண்டாள் ஆகிறாள்

நிலவரைபடம் அறியாத அவனுக்கு

ஊர்த்தெருக்கள் அத்தனையும்

அத்துப்படி.

வாழ்க்கைப்பாடங்களில் தேறிய இவர்களை

கடைசி வரிசையில்

அமரச் செய்கிறது கல்விக்கூடம்.
