THE BIRD AND ITS FLIGHT

From misfired targets

Imaginations spread

Then what would have happened to the bird?

In haste to reach its nest

It would have swam

With yet another nonchalance

It would have walked to the fruit garden

The reasons for refusing to fly

My son draws as bird’s exclusive moments

In the drawing sheet turned shooting flames

Behind the bars sits the bird

At the hour when my son had gone to play

I reminded the bird of flight

It keeps oscillating in instances beyond flying

At the instant it realized the bars as prison

It flies off again

There lies still that which

turning flight into word

then into stone

which I refrained

from throwing anon.

பறத்தலை இயல்பாக்காத பறவை

குறி தவறிய இலக்கிலிருந்து

விரிகின்றன கற்பனைகள்

பின்பு அந்த பறவை என்னவாயிருக்கும்?

கூடடையும் பரபரப்பில் நீந்தியிருக்கும்

இன்னோர் அலட்சியத்துடன்

பழத்தோட்டத்திற்கு நடந்திருக்கும்

பறத்தலை மறுப்பதற்கான காரணங்களை "பட்சியின் தருணங்களென "வரைகிறான் மகன்

கீலங்களாக்கப்பட்ட வரைதாளில்

கோடுகளின் பின்னே அமர்ந்திருக்கிறது பறவை

மகன் விளையாடப்போன மணித்துளியில் பறத்தலை நினைவூட்டினேன்

பறத்தலுக்கு அப்பாலான தருணங்களிலேயே அலைவுறுகிறது அது.

கீலங்களை சிறைகளென உணர்ந்த

தருணத்தில் மீண்டும் பறந்து விடுகிறது

மீந்து கிடக்கிறது

பறத்தலை சொல்லாக்கி

பிறகு கல்லாக்கி நான்

எறியாதிருந்த ஒரு கல்.
