I have arrived on an absolutely alien soil.

Except the person in search of whom I have come here

All others are complete strangers.

I who has become a question mark

to the natives of this soil

showed them the address of the one

I have come to see in person.

They replied in the negative.

I showed them his photograph

He is not there, said they.

I became confusion-confounded.

Just as the one I came to see

I too was known to none

I realized just then.

முன்பின் பழக்கமில்லாத ஊருக்கு

இன்றுதான் வந்திருக்கிறேன்.

இங்கு நான் தேடிவந்தவரைத் தவிர

வேறு எவரும் எனக்குப் பழக்கமில்லை

இந்த ஊரவருக்கு

வினாக்குறியாகிப் போன நான்

சந்திக்க வந்திருப்பவரின்

விலாசதைதைக் காட்டினேன்

தெரியாது என்று சொன்னார்கள்

அவரின் புகைப்படத்தைக் காட்டினேன்

அவர் இந்த ஊரில்

இல்லையென்றார்கள்

தடுமாறிப்போனேன்.

தேடி வந்தவரைப்போல்

நானும்

அறிமுகமில்லாத

ஒருவனாக இருப்பதை

இப்போதுதான் உணர்கிறேன்.

My children have grown up into adults

And I have turned into a child

They advice me often

I am now all alone

Calling me over the cell

They enquire after my welfare

“I am fine, I tell.

In the house turned barren

with Life’s golden era

running away, turning ‘bygone’

there lies still

the rocking chair

where sat and swung at will

My Wife Dear....

என் குழந்தைகள் வளர்ந்து விட்டனர்

நான் குழந்தையாகிவிட்டேன்

அவர்கள் அறிவுரை தருகிறார்கள்

நான் தனிமையாகிவிட்டேன்

அலைபேசியில் விசாரிக்கிறார்கள்

அவதானமாக இருப்பதாகச்

சொல்லுகிறேன்

வாழ்வின் பொற்காலம்

ஓடிப்போன பின்

வெறுமையாகிப்போன என் வீட்டில்

அசைவற்றுக் கிடக்கிறது

என் மனைவி ஆடிய சாய்மனைக் கதிரை.
