SELF PITY AND THE TAMIL POETS

In the tiny puddle

that it has caused to pour and

collect

headlong fallen

with its back to the sun

and waddling

so remain

swimming

in gay abandon

the children

who

no matter of what age

can never come out of

the ‘Chappaani’ stage

Won’t anybody

give a stinging slap on their back

and lift them out of it.
