LOVE IS BLIND....

(Poet Kaamakoeti)

Love is Blind, they say

Which is the Eye they imply...

And why....

For , plants do not fix the stem

into their blossom

with the help of sunlight.

No calf starts sucking milk

from the udder of Mother cow

holding a lantern.

Just as there is no light

in any woman’s lips

in any male thighs

Yet, it is with closed eyes

Humans copulate always

Splendidly; in supreme ecstasy.

As the Body-Space

Breath-Language

Awesome wholesome

with sensations, emotions

entwined

The Body and Soul

being one Whole

Love would enter in One and All.

The word ‘Kann’ for Eye in Tamil

is also the locative case

grammatically...

Eye of the Face

Or of the Inner Space?

Love means Tamil

Tamil means Akam, that is the Internal

Akam means Heart

Heart means Mind

Mind means You

You means I

I Mean We

They who have not learnt this Love – My Dear

Have eyes that are but ulcers!

காதலுக்கு கண்ணில்லை

கவிஞர் காமகோடி

காதலுக்கு கண்ணில்லை

என்கிறார்கள்

இவர்கள் சொல்லும்

கண் எதுவென்று தெரியவில்லை.

தாவரம் எதுவும்

சூரிய வெளிச்சத்தை பார்த்து

தன் பூவில் காம்பை

பொருத்துவதில்லை

எந்த கன்றுகுட்டியும்

கைவிளக்கின் துணைகொண்டு

தாய்மடியின் காம்பில்

வாய்வைப்பதில்லை

எந்த பெண்ணின்

உதட்டிலும் விளக்கில்லாததைபோல

ஆணின் தொடையிலும்தான் இல்லை

ஆனாலும் கண்ணைமூடிகொண்டு

அட்டகாசமாக மனிதர்கள்

புணருகிறார்கள்

உடல் வெளியாக

மூச்சுமொழியாக

மெய்

மெய்யாக மெய்யாக

உயிராக உணர்வாக

காதல் இரங்கும்.

கண் என்னும்

ஏழாம்வேற்றுமை உருபு

இடம் பொருளை கொண்டது

முகத்தின்கண்ணா

அகத்தின்கண்ணா

காதல் என்றால் தமிழ்

தமிழென்றால் அகம்

அகமென்றால் உள்ளம்

உள்ளமென்றால் மனம்

மனமென்றால்

நீ

நீயென்றால் நான்

நானென்றால் நாம்

இக்காதலை கல்லாதவர்

முகத்திரண்டும் புண்ணுடையார்.
