The butterflies drawn by thee

in the semblance of fish

should be painted with rainbow

You insist...

That they don’t fly

You remain stubborn

Stamping your feet on the floor

Upon the crops

That you had drawn in Green

You bring a vessel water-filled

and pour water on them.

For the plant that grows not

For the fish that swim not

For the living beings who don’t walk

And for the birds that don’t fly.

Entwining my heart with yours

Which think that all that

you have drawn

are alive and kicking

I learn to bring to life

all things drawn

to prevent you from shedding tears

மீன்களைப் போல

நீ வரைந்த பட்டாம் பூச்சிகளுக்கு

வானவில்லைக் கொண்டு தான்

நிறம் தீட்ட வேண்டுமென்கிறாய்..

கால்களைத் தரையில்

தட தடவென அடித்து

அவை பறக்கவில்லையென

அடம் பிடிக்கிறாய்

பச்சையாய் நீ வரைந்த

பயிர்களின் மீதெல்லாம்

பாத்திரம் நிறைய

நீர் கொண்டு வார்க்கிறாய்

வளராத செடிக்காயும்

நீந்தாத மீன்களுக்கும்

நடக்காத உயிர்களுக்கும்

பறக்காத பறவைக்குமாய்

நீ வரைந்த அத்தனைக்கும்

உயிர் இருக்கிறதென்று

நினைக்கின்ற உன் மனதில்

நானும் இணைந்து கொண்டு

சித்திரங்களை உயிர்ப்பிக்க

கற்றுக் கொள்கிறேன்

என் செல்லமே நீ

அழக்கூடாது என்பதற்காய்..
