TURTLEPOND

In the pond Where fish should be reared and

so salvation derived

we have nurtured turtles

and as a result suffer...

In the pond that He the Pristine

has created and given

shit-eating turtles

being aplenty proves stench unbearable

Turtles multiplied dangerously.

Fish- merciful died of

Worries aplenty

The human-fish

Swooning in degrees eventually

Ceased to be.

The fish called Love Affection and all

Escaping from the turtle

Reaching the shore became

‘Karuvaadu’.

Good thought is

Good fish isn’t it.

The mother fish killed itself

inside its own stomach

Not getting into the water.

In this pond

With fishes myriad sabotaged

The rule of the turtles.

Hey, you Man

What at all will you get

With the help of turtles.

Each turtle

Would relish shit in each different direction

Is this the scent of your choice,

Haven’t you read

That turtle is hell’s vehicle?

One turtle would ask you

To sabotage the work of another

One turtle would ask you

To drink to your heart’s content

The one who is your companion.

Another turtle would ask you to push another down

and burn

One turtle would tell you to steal something

not owned by thee.

One turtle would goad you to tear off another’s

Dignity

One turtle would say something is

which is not

and something not anywhere

which is very much there

If a person moves forward

The turtle lying inside the pond

would get into his head

and turn him mentally deranged.

A turtle would block the rain God-given

with shells

so depriving other

making him suffer.

Poor thing, as ever.

Rearing turtles is troublesome indeed!

The pond within would have Psychosis swelling

With its stench all pervading.

Ho, Man where are those nostrils!

Turtle to the core – Indeed so dangerous and more

With its shell in tact – the Turtle

_ Envy enormous or even a little.

Yes, of course, it s hell’s vehicle.

Death there would be

The tomb too

Do you still need the rule of turtles to continue

Let’s turn towards the gain

of rearing baby fish again.

ஆமைக்குளம்

மீன்களை வளர்த்து மீட்சி பெறவேண்டிய அழகிய குளத்தில்

ஆமைகளை வளர்த்து

அவதிப்படுகின்றோம்.

மீன்குஞ்சுகளோடு

தூயவன் படைத்தளித்த

மனக்குளமொன்றில்

மலம் தின்னும் ஆமைகள்

மலிந்து கிடத்தல் துர்நாற்றம்.

ஆமைகளின் அதிகரிப்பு;

கருணை மீன்

கவலை தாங்காமல் செத்துப்போனது.

மானுடமீன்

மயங்கி மயங்கி மரணித்துப்போனது.

அன்பு, பாச மீனெல்லாம்

ஆமைகளிடமிருந்து தப்பி

கரைக்கு வந்து கருவாடாகிப்போயின.

நல்லெண்ணமென்பது

நல்ல மீனல்லவா?

தாய் மீன் வயிற்றுக்குள்ளேயே

தன்னை மாய்த்துக் கொண்டது;

தண்ணீருக்குள் வராமலே.!

இத்தனை மீனினம்

அழிந்துபோன குளத்தில்

ஆமைகளின் ஆட்சி.

ஓ..மனிதா

ஆமைகளைக் கொண்டு நீ

அடையப் போவது எதனை?

ஒவ்வொரு ஆமையும்

ஒவ்வொரு திசையில் மலம் தின்னும்;

இதுதான் உனக்குப் பிடித்த வாசமா?

படிக்கவில்லையா

ஆமை நரகத்தின் வாகனம்.

அடுத்தவன் உழைப்பை

கெடுக்கச் சொல்லும் ஓர் ஆமை.

கூட இருப்பவனையே கழுவிக் குடிக்கச் சொல்லும் ஓர் ஆமை.

மற்றவனை வீழ்த்தி எரிக்கச் சொல்லும் ஓர் ஆமை.

உரிமையில்லாப் பொருளை

அபகரிக்கச் சொல்லும் ஓர் ஆமை.

பிறர் மானமாம் ஆடையைக் கிழித்துச் சிரிக்கச் சொல்லும் ஓர் ஆமை.

இல்லாததை இருப்பதாகவும்

இருப்பதை இல்லாதாகவும் கதைத்தழிக்கு ஓர் ஆமை

ஒருவன் முன்னேறினால்

குளத்துக்குள் கிடந்த ஓர் ஆமை தலைக்குள் ஏறிப் பைத்தியம் பிடிக்கும்.

இறைவன் கொடுக்கும் மழையை

ஆமை ஓடுகளால்

அடுத்தவனுக்கு கிடைக்காமல்

தடுக்கும் ஓர் ஆமை!

பாவம்!

ஆமைகள் வளர்த்தல் அவஸ்த்தைதான் !

மனக்குளம் மனநோயினால் நிரம்பி

நாற்றமெடுக்கும்.

ஓ.. மனிதனே எங்கே அந்த மூக்குத்துவாரங்கள்?

ஆமையது ஆமை பொல்லாத ஆமை

ஓடு கழன்றிடாத

பொறாமை.

ஆம் , அது நரகத்து வாகனம் தான்.

மரணமும் உண்டு

மண்ணறையும் உண்டு

இன்னும் வேண்டுமா ஆமைகளின் ஆட்சி?

மீண்டும் மீன்குஞ்சுகள் வளர்ப்போம்.

Turtle - Tortoise இரண்டுக்கும் உள்ள வித்தியாசம் இரண்டாவது அதிக நாட்கள் நிலத்தில் இருக்கும் என்று கூகுளில் தரப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. இந்தக் கவிதையில் இடம்பெறும் ஆமை , ஆமையா, கடலாமையா?

பொறாமையைப் பற்றிப் பேசுவதுதான் முழுக் கவிதை யின் நோக்கமா? அல்லது, அது கவிதையின் ஒரு பகுதி தானா? பொறாமையில் இடம்பெறும் ஆமையை ஆங்கிலத்தில் அதேயளவாய் மொழிபெயர்ப்பில் கொண்டுவர இயலவில்லை. ஒன்றுக்கு மேற்பட்ட அர்த்தங்களைத் தரும் சொல் மூலமொழி யில் இடம்பெற்றால் அதை அதேயளவாய் இலக்குமொழியில் கொண்டுவரவே முடியவில்லை. அப்படியெனில் இத்தகைய கவிதை களை மொழிபெயர்க்கத் தேவையில்லையா? ஆனா லும், மொழிபெயர்க்கவேண்டும் என்று தோன்றியது. முடிந்த வரை சரியாக மொழிபெயர்த்திருக்கிறேன் என்று நம்பு கிறேன்.
