GOD ALIVE

Carrying someone

struggling for life

the ambulance speeds past

Others move aside

making way for it.

The elderly man cycling

in front

slowly alights

and standing on the roadside

offers prayer

raising his eyes to the sky.

Well, if someone asks

Tell that gods are still alive.

வாழும்_கடவுள்

உயிருக்குப் போராடிக் கொண்டிருக்கும்

யாரோ ஒருவரை

சுமந்து கொண்டு விரைகிறது

அந்த அவசர ஊர்தி

ஒதுங்கி வழிவிடுகிறார்கள்

எனக்கு முன்னால்

சைக்கிளில் சென்று கொண்டிருந்த

வயதான அந்த முதியவர்

மெல்ல இறங்கி

இரண்டு கைகளையும் கூப்பி

வணங்குகிறார்

வானத்தை நோக்கி...

சாலையின் ஓரத்தில் நின்றபடி.

யாரேனும் கேட்டால் சொல்லுங்கள்

கடவுளர்கள் இன்னும் சாகவில்லை.
