DELIVERANCE

Giving her away to its ferocity

that grew all the more

whenever eyed intently

Erasing the intervening iron-bars

she freed the tiger of the painting.

Stretching and lifting its legs gone limp

shaking its fatigued body and rising

that which regained its original self

with a roar

turning and halting

gazing intently at her who stood there

frightened to draw closer

then

arrived at its jungle.

The same forest

where it had trodden all over

Yet

now everything seemed new.

Afflicted with the misfortune of

seeing those same fear-struck pair of eyes

again and again

in any and all prey

that it leapt and chased

Forgetting how to hunt

famished

it strays

crazy to the core.

உற்றுக் காணும்தோறும்

உருவேறி நிற்குமதன்

உக்கிரத்திற்குத் தன்னை

ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தவளாக ,

குறுக்கே நின்ற

கூண்டுக்கம்பிகளை

அழித்து ,

அந்த சித்திரத்துப்புலியை

அவள் விடுவித்தாள் .

துவண்டிருந்த கால்களை

தூக்கி வைத்து

சோர்ந்த உடலை

உதறிச் சிலிர்த்து

ஒரு உறுமலோடு

தனது சுயத்திற்கு மீண்ட

அது ,

அருகில் வர

அஞ்சி நிற்குமவளை

திரும்பி நின்று

தீர்க்கமாக ஒருமுறை நோக்கியபின்

தனது வனத்திற்கு ஏகியது .

அடியளந்த

அதே காடுதான்

ஆயினும் ,

இம் முறை

எல்லாமும் புதிதாக இருந்தது .

ஒடித் துரத்திய இரை

ஒவ்வொன்றிலும்

மருண்ட அவ்விரு கண்களையே

மறுபடியும் மறுபடியும்

காண நேரிட்ட

துரதிர்ஷ்டத்தால்

வேட்டைமறந்து

பசிமுற்றி அது

பைத்தியமாய் திரிகிறது.
