Do you remember

the first ever rejection

bringing in the realization of

your abject vulnerability

Do you remember

the first ever word

first ever face

that after being born in this world

and gaining the princely feeling

so growing up

eventually bringing in the realization

that in this great grand city

you too are a non-entity lj v

Do you remember

the eyes of the friend who

caused the first betrayal…

the pain of first ever humiliation

caused by friend’s scorn

with the words growing numb

that slowly pervaded my nerves

Do you remember

the first ever parting

With tearful adieu unsaid

A few faces that lay deep-rooted

in the recesses of memory

I have never been able to sketch…My friend!

Some departures I have forgotten

Some separations I have marked

Some faces I have chiselled as my very memory

உன் கையாலாகாதனத்தை

உணர்த்திய முதல் புறக்கணிப்பு

நினைவில் இருக்கிறதா

பிறந்த உலகத்தில் இளவரசனாய்

உணர்ந்து பின் வளர்ந்து

இந்த நகரத்தில் நீயும் வெறும் ஒருத்தன்

என்பதை உணர்த்திய

முதல் வார்த்தை

முதல் முகம் நினைவில் இருக்கிறதா..

முதல் துரோகத்தை நிகழ்த்திய

நண்பனின் கண்கள்...

வார்த்தைகள் மரத்துப்போக

கைகளின் நரம்புகளில்

மெல்ல ஏறிய முதல் அவமானம் தந்த

நண்பர்களின் கேலி,

பிரியாவிடை சொல்லிக்கொள்ளாத

முதல் பிரிவு இன்னும் நினைவில் இருக்கிறதா..

நினைவின் அடுக்குகளில்

வேர் படர்ந்து கிடக்கும் சில முகங்களை

என் விரல்களால் வரைய முடிவதே இல்லை...

தோழனே!

சில பிரிவுகளை நான் மறந்துவிட்டேன்...

சில பிரிவுகளை குறித்து வைத்திருக்கிறேன்...

சில முகங்களை என் நினைவாய் செதுக்கி வைத்திருக்கிறேன்...
