G.P.ELANGOVAN

 THREE POEMS BY

G.P.ELANGOVAN

Translated into English by Latha Ramakrishnan(*First Draft)

(1)
A dried up seashore
appears the sky
A star sprouted in a short while
surfacing wave after waves
from the depth of ocean
revels playing with the
residual darkness on the shore
A boat not knowing how to sail
is waiting there
long since.

(2)
He who attempted suicide
twice in vain
chooses a Full Moon Midnight
as the third attempt
and converses.
Of the words that exit the flaxen body
one moves along the sky and
floats in the void.
An incomprehensible gloom
is devouring the Full Moon.

(3)

Long since
I have reached the city.
The sky with drizzle and rain
appears almost the same.
Along the roads with rainwater drained
the wagons proceed smoothly
At the intersection of three crossings
facing each other
I am waiting for a cup of Tea.
Due to your delay
The Tea is losing its heat
Eventually
along with the Tea
I have set out abandoning thee.
