In the sound of raindrops falling I go on experiencing

the sorrow of his loneliness

with no respite.

For comforting him with soothing words he has no beloved at all.

Still, he is so full of love.

A squirrel from a tree used to visit him.

He had bought Almond nuts and kept them ready for it.

A dog in the opposite apartment was all love for him.

Sometimes he would chat with it.

Apart from these he had a friend – a girl.

She was afflicted with a terminal disease.

As wished by her he had gifted her with a puppy.

He loved to talk to her and be so fond of her.

He who used to visit her all too often

doesn’t do so these days.

She was buried deep down the tomb.

This is how in the stories after him

in the sound of the raindrops falling

I go on experiencing the sorrow of his loneliness.

இந்தக் கவிதை...

மழை சொட்டும் ஓசையில் அவன் தனிமைத் துயரை இடைவிடாது உணர்ந்த வண்ணமிருக்கிறேன்

அவனுக்கென்று ஆறுதல் சொல்லவோ ஆற்றுப்படுத்தவோ ஒரு காதலிகூட இல்லை

எனினும் அவனுக்கு காதல் நிறையவே

உண்டு

மர அணிலொன்று அவனைப் பார்க்க வந்துகொண்டிருந்தது

பாதாம்பருப்புகளை அதற்காகவே வாங்கி வைத்திருந்தான்

எதிர்ப்புற குடியிருப்பில் இருக்கும் நாயொன்று அவன் மீது தீரா அன்பு கொண்டிருந்தது

சிலபொழுதுகளில் அதனுடன் பேசுவான்

இதைத் தவிரவும் அவனுக்கொரு குட்டி சினேகிதி இருந்தாள்

அவளுக்குத் தீர்க்கவே முடியாத நோய் இருந்தது

அவள் விருப்பத்தின்படி குட்டி நாயொன்றை பரிசாகக் கொடுத்திருந்தான்

அவளுடன் பேசுவது அவள் மீது வாஞ்சையோடிருப்பது அவனுக்கு ரொம்பப் பிடிக்கும்

அடிக்கடி அவளைப் பார்க்கச் செல்லும்

அவன் இப்போது செல்வதில்லை

அவள் கல்லறையுள் புதையுண்டு போனாள்

இப்படித்தான் அவனுக்கு பின்னால் உள்ள கதைகளில் மழை சொட்டும் ஓசையில் அவன் தனிமைத் துயரை உணர்ந்துகொண்டிருக்கிறேன்.
