THARMINI

As if they had stared at each other

by chance

In a short while

they smiled unnaturally.

as deep in thought their hands rubbed against each other

they felt one another.

The water for two mugs of Tea

had boiled upon the table

between them

the ordinary Tea steaming

Now

the deal was made quietly

For drinking without bitter taste

Let each of them deposit

the sugar they require.

In the cups

images of birds

hopping hither and thither

and reeling in the rims….

தற்செயலாகத் தான் முறைத்துப் பார்த்தது போல

சற்று நேரத்தில்

செயற்கையாகப் புன்னகைத்தனர்

என்னவோ யோசினையில்

கைகள் முட்டி விட்டதாக

தொட்டுக்கொண்டனர்

இரு குவளைகளுக்கான நீர் கொதித்துவிட்டது

மேசையில்

அவர்களுக்கு நடுவில்

வெறுந்தேநீர் ஆவிவிட்டபடி

இப்போது

அமைதியாக நிறைவேறியது ஒப்பந்தம்

கசப்பின்றி அருந்த

அவரவருக்கான சீனியை அவரவர் போடட்டும்

கோப்பைகளில் பறவைகளது படங்கள்

அங்குமிங்கும் தத்தித் தாவி

விளிம்புகளில் தடுமாறி…
