1. THE PLASTIC BALL

The sound of the plastic ball

falling on the floor and bouncing up

again and again

is being heard

Someone who wants to relish that noise

is banging it against the floor

It is as if my note

denote

its racing pulse.

To which particular ears

the noise of its sinking and leaping

want in particular to transfer

its pain severe

_ I wonder……

As the lines I aspired to pen

for someone

the sound rolls inside me

as agitation intense.

I know not for whom it is

but it makes me feel ill at ease..

I too keep tumbling in Here and Now _

managing to rise somehow.

ப்ளாஸ்டிக் பந்து

பிளாஸ்டிக் பந்து

தரையில் வீழ்ந்து வீழ்ந்து எழும்

சத்தம் கேட்கிறது

அதன் சத்தத்தை ருசிக்க

யாரோ அதை

தரையில் அடித்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்

அதன் துடிப்பை

எனக்கு குறிப்பு உண்ர்த்துவதைப் போல இருக்கிறது

அதன் சத்தமும் அமிழ்தலும்

எத்தனை செவிகளுக்கு தம் வலியை

குறிப்பாய்க் கொண்டுபோக நினைத்தது என்று

தெரியவில்லை

பகலில் யாருக்கோ எழுத நினைத்த

வரிகளைப் போல

சத்தம் பதட்டத்துடன்

எனக்குள் உருளுகிறது

அது யாருக்கானதோ தெரியவில்லை

என்னை தொந்தரவு செய்துகொண்டிருக்கிறது

நானும் தான் பந்தைப்போல

இன்றில் விழுந்து விழுந்து

எழுந்துகொண்டிருக்கிறேன்

பொன் இளவேனில்

(நுண்மொழிக் காஞ்சி தொகுப்பிலிருந்து)

Just as inserting the thread into a needle

too strenuous it is

to find out a formula

Can voices that sound washed-out

as torn footwear

impart wisdom?

Indeed it is the idiots

Who can’t even put up a good show of pretense

Who are the pastimes of wisdom

Even if we fasten

in thousands

tomfooleries

can the wheel of intelligence

move even one bit ahead?

Still it is the game of fools

that offers comic-relief

non-stop to relish

தையல் ஊசியில்

நூல் கோர்ப்பதைப்போல

சிரமப்பட வேண்டியிருக்கிறது

ஒரு சூத்திரத்தைக் கண்டுபிடிக்க

அறுந்த செருப்புகளென

தேய்ந்த குரல்கள்

ஞானத்தையா ஊட்டும்

ஒழுங்காக ஒப்பனைகளைக்

கூடச் செய்யத் தெரியாத

மக்குகள்தான்

ஞானத்தின் பொழுதுபோக்கு

ஓராயிரம் மடத்தனத்தைப் பூட்டினாலும்

அறிவுச்சக்கரம்

துளி நகருமா

ஆனாலும் ரசிக்க ரசிக்க

மக்குகளின் ஆட்டத்தில்தான்

அளவற்ற நகைச்சுவை

பொன் இளவேனில்
