IMPULSE

The boy who came out of his hide-out
as none came in search of him
even after a long time,
views the desolate street.
As it had darkened
all others had stopped the game midway
and left the scene.
In the moonlight,
stamping on the shadows of houses fallen
concealing half of the street
fearing the dogs that would confront him anytime
he who walks
in that night
in that aloneness
feels so intensely lost.
For a moment he stands there
as if he would burst out in tears
feeling utterly broken
But the next instant
He shakes his head with a proud resolve.
Not anyone else
but
as he himself has found his own self
looking ahead unwaveringly
with slow and steady steps
He walks on.

தற்பிறப்பு

வெகுநேரமாகியும் யாரும்
தேடிவரவில்லை என்பதால்,
மறைவிடத்தை விட்டு
வெளியே வந்த சிறுவன் ,
வெறிச்சோடிக் கிடக்கிற
தெருவைப் பார்க்கிறான்.
இருட்டிவிட்டதால், விளையாட்டை
இடையில் நிறுத்திவிட்டு,
எல்லோரும் போயிருந்தார்கள்.
நிலா ஒளியில்,
வீதியில் பாதியை மறைத்தவாறு,
வீழ்ந்துகிடக்கும்
வீடுகளின் நிழல்களை மிதித்தபடி,
எந்நேரத்திலும் வந்து
எதிரே மறித்து நிற்கப்போகும்
நாய்களுக்குப் பயந்து ,
நடப்பவன்
அவ்விரவில்,
அந்தத்தனிமையில்,
அவ்வளவு
அநாதரவாக உணர்கிறான்.
ஒரு கணம்,
உடைந்து அழப்போகிறவனைப்
போல,
தடுமாறி நிற்பவன்
மறுபோது வீம்புடன்
தலையை உதறிக்கொள்கிறான் .
தன்னை யாரோ அல்ல
தானே கண்டுபிடித்தவன் போல
தயக்கமேதுமின்றி
நேரிட்டு நிதானமாக
நடக்கத் தொடங்குகிறான்.
