MATING THE SEA

The goddamned useless Rain

urinates on the corpse

raising its hind leg

Sickening.

Since morning I have been caged here

Need a little munificence of the Sun

With the river entering into the town

Fish swim along the streets.

The cats with their fur drenched in rain

catch them and hop away happily.

That the Sea is entering through the estuary,

they say.

Through the narrow openings of the door

the waters have gushed inside

A sound

as though somebody was knocking at the door….

Climbing down the cot

walking In knee-deep water

I open the door.

In the deserted street

dolphins lilt and leap

From out of blue emerging from the floods

leaving me spellbound

having goosebumps all over

swimming the mermaid entered my abode.

Shutting the door, searching for

I found the candle and lit it.

With her fins glittering in the glow

With the pointed-face of the grasshopper

two impeccable boobs

chilled and taut

lying sideways on the cot

shaking her tail

She smiles at me.

At dawn before the flood subsides

till she reaches the tidal mouth swimming

I ran pursuing her.

Waving her hands she joined the sea.

How erroneous it is to have compared the rain with dog’s urine

The stench of fish all over my body

Since that time

till date I have never bathed.

கடலைப் புணர்ந்தவன்

ஒன்றுக்கும் உதவாத மழை

பிணத்தின் மீது பெய்கிறது

பின்னங்காலைத் தூக்கி

சகிக்க முடியவில்லை

காலையிலிருந்து அடைபட்டுக் கிடக்கிறேன்

வெயிலின் கருணை

கொஞ்சம் வேண்டும்

ஆறு ஊருக்குள் புகுந்து

தெருக்களில் மீன்கள் நீந்துகின்றன

தூறலில் உரோமம் நனைந்த பூனைகள்

அவற்றை கவ்விக்கொண்டு ஓடுகின்றன

முகத்துவாரம் வழி

கடல் உள் நுழைவதாகப் பேச்சு

கதவிடுக்கின் வழியாக வீட்டுக்குள்ளும்

நுழைந்துவிட்டது வெள்ளம்

வாசல் கதவை யாரோ

மோதுவது போல சப்தம்

கட்டிலைவிட்டு இறங்கி

முழங்காலளவு நீரில் நடந்து

கதவைத் திறக்கிறேன்

ஊரொடுங்கிய தெருவில்

டால்ஃபின்கள் துள்ளிக்குதிக்கின்றன

திடீரென வெள்ளத்துக்குள்ளிருந்து வெளிப்பட்டு

என் மயிர்க் கண்கள் சிலிர்த்து நிற்க

வீட்டுக்குள் நீந்தி நுழைந்தது

கடல்கன்னி

கதவை அடைத்து

தேடி எடுத்து

மெழுகுவர்தியை ஏற்றினேன்

ஒளியில் செதில்கள் மினுமினுங்க

வெட்டுக்கிளியின் கூர்முகத்தோடு

கச்சிதமான இரு முலைகள்

சில்லிட்டு விடைத்து நிற்க

கட்டிலின் மீது

ஒருக்களித்துப் படுத்து

வாலைப் படபடவென உதறியபடி

என்னைப் பார்த்து முறுவலிக்கிறாள்

விடியலில் வெள்ளம் வடிவதற்குள்

நீந்தி முகத்துவாரத்தை அவள்

அடையும் வரை பின்னே ஓடினேன்

கைகளை அசைத்து

விடைபெற்றபடி கடல் சேர்ந்தாள்

மழையை

நாயின் மூத்திரத்திற்கு ஒப்பிட்டது

எத்தனை தவறு

என் உடம்பு முழுவதும் மீன் கவிச்சை

அதற்குப் பிறகு இன்றுவரை நான்

குளிக்கவேயில்லை.
