He who never contemplates on another footwear

as long as he has one

One who wears the same wrist watch

for the past two decades

One who sports the same hairstyle

and goes around all these twenty-five years

One who hesitates to discard a handkerchief

till it turn into rags beyond redemption

One who firmly believes that

having a substitute for the belt worn

is but real extravaganza

One who still shaves and trims

his moustache and beard

with the bronze gadget

having super max blade

One who bathes with the same Cinthol soap

for the past thirty years

smiles mysteriously at the

all too rare human being

having five hundred ear-rings.

ஒரு செருப்பு இருக்கையில்

இன்னொரு செருப்பு குறித்து சிந்திக்காதவன்

ஒற்றைக் கைக்கடிகாரத்தை

இருபது ஆண்டுகளாக

அணிந்து கொண்டிருப்பவன்

ஒரே மாதிரியான சிகையலங்காரத்தில்

இருபத்தி ஐந்து ஆண்டுகள் உலா வருபவன்

முழுவதுமாக நைந்து கிழியாதவரை

கைக்குட்டையை நிராகரிக்கத் தயங்குபவன்

அணிந்திருக்கும் பெல்ட்டுக்கு மாற்று பெல்ட்

அதீத ஆடம்பரமென உறுதியாக நம்புபவன்

சூப்பர் மேக்ஸ் பிளேடு அணிந்த வெண்கல உபகரணத்தில்

இன்னமும் மீசைதாடி திருத்திக் கொள்கிறவன்

ஓல்டு சின்த்தால் சோப் கொண்டு

முப்பதாண்டுகளாகக் குளித்துக் கொண்டிருப்பவன்

ஐநூறு தோடுகள் வைத்திருக்கும்

அபூர்வ சிகாமணியைக் கண்டு

மாய முறுவல் பூக்கிறான்.
