As the tin-plate of the construction worker

carrying bricks

His writing tool weighs heavy.

And the bricks aligned are broken

every now and then

as the woman labourer who has come there

to do the work

The headgear made of her sari covering her bosom

with fiery eyes burning those staring at it

undergoes training

inside the mountain cave

to stir and wake up the cheetah within.

The tin-plate where bricks innumerable to be aligned

Stands still inside the headgear

as poverty…

The finesse with which two stones of the primordial brick

was brought atop the head

and arranged in order

_ the dancing hands of the meticulous work

leaves me spellbound.

And the sea of resilience of the trade

that arranged in order eight bricks

one after another

can move and shake ship and building

It is all too clear

But, what’s the use

He, this one, who knows not how to carry stones

With his pencil inserted at the corner of his ear

keeps searching for the chipper that hones

the poetic-wooden block of Time.

செங்கல் சுமக்கும் கட்டிடத் தொழிலாளியின்

தகர வட்டிலென

கனக்கிறது இவனின் எழுத்தாணி..

அடுக்கிய செங்கல் அடுக்க வந்திருக்கும்

பெண் தொழிலாளியென

அவ்வப்போது உடைந்தும் விடுகிறது...

தலையில் சுற்றிய சும்மாட்டு மார்புச் சேலை

பார்ப்பவர்களை எரிக்கும் கண்களுடன்

மலைக் குகைக்குள் மனச் சிறுத்தையை

எழுப்பிப் பார்க்க பயிற்சி எடுக்கிறது...

எண்ணற்ற கற்களை அடுக்க வேண்டிய

தகர வட்டில்

சும்மாட்டிற்குள் ஆடாமல்

அசையாமல் வறுமையென நின்று கொள்கிறது...

ஆதி செங்கலின் இரண்டுகற்களை

லாவகமாய் தலையில் ஏற்றி

அடுக்கிய அந்நுட்பத் தொழிலின்

கைப்பாவை நடனம் பிரமிக்க வைக்கிறது...

அடுத்தடுத்து எட்டு செங்கற்களை

அடுக்கிய தொழிலின் வைராக்கிய கடல்

கப்பலையும் கட்டிடத்தையும் நகர்த்துமென்பதும் புரிகிறது...

என்ன பயன்

கல் சுமக்கக்கூடத் தெரியாத இவனின்

எழுத்தாணியைக் காதோரம் செருக்கிக் கொண்டுதான்

காலத்தின் கவிமரக்கட்டையைச் சீவும்

தேய்ப்பானை சதா தேடிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறான்...
