It is those dolls that they have carefully chosen

with their hue and finesse

duly looked into

that these children enjoy

breaking apart with such ease.

It would have been better

if such immense affection was

not entrusted in my hands.

Can there be a curse

worse than the boon

given in the hands of one

for whom handling it is

absolutely unknown….

நேர்த்தி நிறமாய்ந்து

தேர்ந்த பொம்மையைத் தான்

உடைத்து மகிழ்கின்றன

பிள்ளைகள்

இவ்வளவு பெரும் நேசத்தை

என்னிடம் ஒப்படைத்திருக்க

வேண்டாம்

கையாளத் தெரியாதவனின்

கரங்களில் வழங்கப்பட்ட

வரத்தைப் போலொரு

சாபம் உண்டா சொல்.
