ONGOING DIALOGUE

Predan where are you

For sure, except your body

Everywhere.

Only because you are inside my mind

I search for you outside and find

Only where you are absent

as a solid substance

I will exist in flesh and blood

You may not be inside my body

Yet you are born of mine

Isn’t it so?

No

Once upon a time

escaping social surveillance

I lived in the hideout of

a spot in your body

Yes, for underground life

in this Tamil Land of Three Seas’

confluence

nowhere more secure

than your body

not politicized.

The landmines you had buried in me

lower down the hip

towards the end of Twentieth century

lie in wait for a killing spree.

Are they remembered by thee?

Each wave of the Sea of Time

is a year

Going past us floating in the middle

centuries climb ashore.

New Time new Humans new Life

But, the same old Politics.

None there

who had swam across

the mindset of dominance

and reached the shore

In the politics prevailing between us

what is your stance?

Exiting from the fictions

you create about me

Avoiding myself to mean

what your narratives ordain

Again I am back to where I began

Predan where am I, man

For sure, except your body

○ ஓயாத உரையாடல்

பிரேதன் நீ எங்கே இருக்கிறாய்?

உன் உடம்பைத் தவிர்த்து

எல்லா இடங்களிலும்.

நீ என் சிந்தைக்குள் இருப்பதால்தானே

உன்னை வெளியே தேடுகிறேன்?

நீ இல்லாத இடத்தில் மட்டுமே

குருதியும் தசையுமாய்

திடப்பொருளாக நிலைப்பேன்.

என் உடம்பில் இல்லாமலிருக்கலாம்

இருப்பினும் நீ

என் உடம்பால் ஆனவன்தானே?

இல்லை,

முன்பு ஒரு காலத்தில்

சமூகக் கண்காணிப்பிலிருந்துத் தப்பித்து

உன் உடம்பின் ஒரு பகுதியில்

தலைமறைவாக வாழ்ந்தேன்

ஆம், தலைமறைவு வாழ்க்கைக்கு

அரசியல்படுத்தப்படாத உன் உடம்பைத் தவிர

பாதுகாப்பான புகலிடம்

இந்த முக்கடல் தமிழ்த் தேசத்தில் வேறில்லை.

இருபதாம் நூற்றாண்டின் இறுதியில்

என் உடம்பில் இடுப்புக்குக் கீழ்ப்பகுதியில் நீ புதைத்துவைத்த கண்ணிவெடிகள்

இன்றும் காவுவாங்கக் காத்திருக்கின்றன

அவை பற்றிய நினைவிருக்கிறதா?

காலக்கடலின் ஒவ்வோர் அலையும் ஓர் ஆண்டு

நடுவில் மிதக்கும் நம்மைக் கடந்து

நூற்றாண்டுகள் கரையேறுகின்றன

புதிய காலம் புதிய மனிதர் புதிய வாழ்க்கை

ஆனால், அதே பழைய அரசியல்

மேலாதிக்க மனநிலையைக் கடந்து நீந்திக் கரையேறியவர் ஒருவருமில்லை.

நமக்கிடையில் நிலவும் அரசியலில் உனது நிலைப்பாடு என்ன?

என்னைப் பற்றி நீ உருவாக்கும்

புனைவுகளிலிருந்து வெளியேறுவது

உனது சொல்லாடல்களால் நான் பொருள்படுவதைத் தவிர்ப்பது.

மீண்டும் தொடங்கிய இடத்திற்கே வந்துவிட்டேன்

பிரேதன் நான் எங்கே இருக்கிறேன்?

உன் உடம்பைத் தவிர்த்து

எல்லா இடங்களிலும்..
