Turning a blank sheet into a jungle

He strove hard and succeeded.
Clouds have formed
He made birds, elusive to the hunters,
to float
Growing grass
Planting trees
He built a house.
For light
he brought into being the Moon.
The sheet filled to the brim
he took another one
and began to create river.
“Damn this good-for-nothing fella…
Scribbling always”
Hearing his father’s voice
he became shell-shocked.
The river dried up
at the very start itself.

வெற்றுத் தாளை வனமாக்கியவன்
முயற்சியால் வெற்றிகொண்டான்
மேகங்கள் உருவாகியிருந்தன
வேடர்களுக்குச் சிக்காத
பறவைகளை மிதக்கச் செய்தான்
புற்களை உருவாக்கி
மரங்களை வளர்த்து
வீடொன்றைக் கட்டினான்
வெளிச்சம் வேண்டி

நிலவைப் பிறப்பித்தான்
நிறைவுகொள்ள
வேறுதாளை எடுத்து
நதியை உருவாக்கத் துவங்கினான்.
சனியன்
சதா கிறுக்கிக்கிட்டே இருக்கு.
அப்பாவின் குரல்கேட்டு அதிர்ந்தான்.
ஒரு நதி
துவக்கத்திலேயே வறண்டது.
